About the studio

Castle Farm Road is new.
The story behind it has been unfolding for years.

Where this came from

For much of our working lives, Daniel and I have been surrounded by independent retailers, wholesale brands and the people who pour so much of themselves into making those businesses work.

Through Purchasing Power Plus, we spent years working closely with retailers and vendors, listening to buyers, helping brands present themselves more clearly, and watching new products find their way into stores.

It taught us that good business is built on relationships. It taught us to pay attention to the details that make something easier for a buyer to understand, easier for a retailer to work with and easier for a customer to connect with.

And it taught us how important storytelling really is.

Then we built something of our own

Betty Blu gave us another perspective entirely. We became the brand.

Suddenly the decisions were ours. The products. The collections. The packaging. The website. The emails. The wholesale materials. The small changes that no one else might notice, but that we knew mattered.

A brand is not built in one moment. It is built through all the moments when someone encounters it. When those pieces feel connected, the business feels more recognizable, more considered and more like itself.

We know what it feels like to care deeply about what you are building. We know what it feels like to stare at a page and know it is not quite right yet. We know what it feels like to have an idea you can see clearly in your head and need help turning it into something other people can see too.

Castle Farm Road grew from all of that.

Two perspectives, one point of view

Daniel and I come to the work from different directions.

Daniel

Sees the business side. Relationships. Partnerships. Sales conversations. Opportunities. The people behind the business and what needs to happen next.

Carrie

Sees the creative side. The story. The words. The visual direction. The website. The presentation. The details that help an idea become something tangible.

We have worked with retailers. We have worked with vendors. We have spent years around wholesale. And we have built and marketed a product brand ourselves.

That combination matters because creative work does not live in isolation. A line sheet has a job to do. A website has an audience. An email is part of a relationship. A brand story has to sound like the people behind it.

A beautiful piece still needs to make sense in the real world.

Why Castle Farm Road

The name is personal to us.

Castle Farm Road is the road we now call home in North Carolina. It came into our lives at a moment when we were thinking seriously about what we wanted the next chapter of our work to look like.

There is something about the idea of home that mirrors how we want this business to feel. Warm. Welcoming. Thoughtful. Personal. A place where someone can bring an idea and know it will be taken seriously. A place to sit down, talk something through and figure out what comes next.

Castle Farm Road is quite literally where we are putting down roots in a new home. It is also where we are building what comes next. We love that those two things happened at the same time.

Where good ideas take root.

Where we are going

We know what Castle Farm Road is today. A place for thoughtful creative work, good storytelling and close collaboration with businesses we understand.

We also know it can become more. Tools brands can share with their retailers. Resources that help independent shops market more easily. Education for product businesses trying to understand wholesale.

We want to grow thoughtfully. We want to stay close to the work. And we want Castle Farm Road to remain personal, even as the ideas we create begin to travel farther.

Tell us what you’re working on.

A new collection, a website that needs attention, or an idea you are ready to explore. We would love to hear about it.
